Kashmir genuinely changes personality four times a year, and each season calls for a different kind of trip.
Peak snowfall in Gulmarg and Sonamarg. Best for snow tours, gondola rides, and cosy houseboat stays. Cold, but this is when Kashmir looks like the postcards.
Tulip gardens bloom in Srinagar, orchards flower across the valley, and temperatures turn pleasant. A favourite for honeymoon travel and photography.
Cool relief from mainland Indian heat. Meadows are green, treks are fully open, and this is the busiest season for family and adventure travel.
Chinar trees turn gold and red across Srinagar. Fewer crowds, crisp air, and some of the best light of the year for a quieter, scenic trip.
Not every trip to Kashmir should look the same. Here's how our four most-booked package styles differ.
Built around slower mornings, private shikara rides at sunset, candlelight dinners on the houseboat deck, and a Gulmarg gondola ride for the couple photo everyone wants. We keep the group size to zero — it's just the two of you and a driver who knows exactly when to disappear.
For travellers who want more than a viewpoint and a photo. Gondola-assisted skiing and snowboarding in Gulmarg, white-water rafting on the Lidder river near Pahalgam, valley treks toward Kolahoi Glacier, and pony rides up to Thajiwas Glacier in Sonamarg.
Comfort-first planning: hotels with connecting or triple-occupancy rooms, shorter drive segments between destinations, and a pace that doesn't exhaust grandparents or toddlers. Mughal Gardens, easy shikara rides, and gentle nature walks replace high-altitude trekking segments.
Everything that matters — Gulmarg, Dal Lake, Pahalgam — without the premium hotel mark-up. We use well-rated 3-star stays and shared cab transfers to bring the cost down while keeping the sightseeing list identical to our pricier packages.
Almost every itinerary starts and ends here. Stay a night or two on a houseboat on Dal Lake, take an early-morning shikara ride past the floating vegetable market, and walk through the Mughal Gardens — Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi — laid out by emperors who clearly had good taste in scenery.
India's premier hill station for snow sports and home to one of the highest cable car rides in the world, the Gulmarg Gondola. In winter it's snowball fights and skiing; in summer, the same meadows turn into one of the greenest golf courses you'll ever see.
Pine-forested and quieter than Gulmarg, Pahalgam sits along the Lidder river and works as a base for Betaab Valley, Aru Valley, and Chandanwari. It's also where most of our river rafting and pony-trek adventure segments happen.
The furthest and least crowded of the four, Sonamarg is the gateway toward Ladakh and home to the Thajiwas Glacier, reachable by a short pony ride or trek. Sitting at higher altitude, it stays cooler even in peak summer.
The itinerary structure most of our Srinagar–Gulmarg–Pahalgam packages are built around.
Airport pickup by your assigned driver, houseboat check-in on Dal Lake, and an evening shikara ride to watch the sunset over the water.
A full day through the Mughal Gardens, the Shankaracharya Temple viewpoint, and a slow walk through the old city and its local markets.
A scenic 90-minute drive up to Gulmarg, gondola ride to Kongdoori and Apharwat Peak, then snow play or a green meadow walk before evening.
A scenic drive through saffron fields near Pampore and apple orchards, hotel check-in in Pahalgam, and a relaxed evening by the Lidder river.
A full day covering both valleys by shared local jeep, with optional pony rides or river rafting for thrill seekers.
Drive back to Srinagar airport with a final stop at a local handicraft workshop before your flight out.
5 to 6 days is enough to cover Srinagar, Gulmarg, and Pahalgam comfortably. Add Sonamarg if you want a fuller adventure itinerary.
Yes — one or two nights on Dal Lake is one of the most distinctive experiences in India. We suggest pairing it with a standard hotel stay.
Tourist zones — Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg — see heavy footfall year-round and are actively supported by local tourism authorities.
Late December through February gives the most reliable, heavy snowfall in Gulmarg and Sonamarg.
Every package on this site is a starting template. Tell us your dates, group size, and interests, and we'll adjust the route and pace to match.
